5th Semester Rotations:
5th semester academic introduction to clinical medicine will give you an opportunity to
discover area of interests within a multidisciplinary setting. Typically this is a six-week required clerkship that takes what you've learned during basic sciences and augments that material to create
a bridge to further learning.
5th semester emphasizes honing students' physical examination and diagnostic skills; sharpening critical-thinking and communication skills for use in a clinical setting; and developing a more thorough knowledge of mechanism of disease processes. Students will also boost clinical acumen by making written and oral presentations in a patient-care setting.
Core & Elective Rotations: examining and treating your assigned patients, shadowing attending physicians and residents, conducting procedures, reviewing lab results, and general patient care. This phase of the program lasts 44 weeks.
